Bud Light Traithlon

The swimming leg of the Bud Light Triathlon's Norfolk event was held in Lake Whitehurst next to the Norfolk Botanical Garden for several years in the early 1990s. The 0.93 mile swim course had to be cleared of tree stumps and the remains of an old railroad trestle before the race could be run. Garden tour boats were employed as lifeguard stations along the course.
