Spirit Bridge

This stone bridge was installed as part of the renovation of the Japanese Garden in 1995, replacing this wooden bridge. One interpretation of the Spirit Bridge suggests that ghosts can't follow one across it because they cannot pass over moving water and cannot move sideways and thus are blocked by the split bridge.
